Jamet #17 for this town. Free on the manuscript notation “Le Prefete Colonial”. Strike of seal of Daure on reverse, about fine. Contents one page in French can be read, signed by Daure. The order is clean and very sound and overall fine to very fine.   Link to Auction Lot #1 image$25.00$125.00

On reverse is handstamp seal of General Rochambeau “LE GENERAL EN CHEF”, quite legible and almost VF. The order is very clean and sound. Contents in two paragraphs, both signed by Rochambeau. The first has a circle about 2cm diameter neatly removed at the beginning of the text, not seriously affecting the contents, both can be easily read. Almost VF. 3Order signed by Toussaint at Santo Domingo, 15 January 1802, to the local Commissioner. A short letter apparently ordering the payment of a sum of money. Item was originally folded into the form of a small letter and has been ironed out flat. It shows stains from age particularly along right edge. Paper is sound and contents can be read easily. Overall condition about fine. Link to Auction Lot #3 imageLink to Auction Lot #3 image150.00750.00
4Letter from General Thouvenot at Port au Prince 17 June 1803 to General Quantin at Fort Liberte on military stationery, stamp on reverse of “Etat Major General”, see Jamet #25 in franks and countersigns section. Item is very clean and sound.   Link to Auction Lot #4 image35.00120.00
5Letter, General Boye at Le Cap to the local chief magistrate, 16 October 1803, on military stationery. 8Letter dated Cap Haitian, 7 February 1849, to Gonaives by Haitian post and on to Port au Prince by coastal ship service. On the front is a strike of the British style double circle marking for Gonaives. The letter is marked 6 ¼ , which would be the charge for Le Cap to Gonaives. As usual, the charge for coastal ervice is not marked. Contents are in French, a page of neat writing that should be easily read. Paper is slightly frail but still entirely intact. Overall condition about good to fine. Link to Auction Lot #8 image25.0050.00
