What's new on the Website?
August 17, 2008 - Images for Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 33, 34, 35, 36 have been added to our September Auction listing. August 5, 2008 - The September Society auction has been posted. Of special note, Lot 54 features a very scarce Haitian cover flown on the Zeppelin Hindenburg in 1936. July 20, 2008 - Prices realized have been released for our June auction. June 22, 2008 - Additional images have been added to the descriptions for the forthcoming July 5th Society Auction. The new scans have been provided for Lots 76 and 85. June 1, 2008 - The Society has presented its most prestigious award to a distinguished philatelist. See more details under the tab headed "Recognition". May 18, 2008 - The June Society auction has been posted. May 5, 2008 - We've added a link to Allen Morrison's fascinating website dealing with early trams in Haiti on the Links page. April 27, 2008 - Prices realized have been released for our March auction. March 28, 2008 - Wally Deltoro's article "An Update to Haiti's Administrative Organization" has been translated into French, as has Carroll Lloyd's work titled the "Rewards of Collecting Haiti". Both have been added to the French language pages of our website to make this material more easily available to our French speaking fellow colleagues. March 15, 2008 - A new article has been loaded to the Reference Material page which will be of importance to the collector of modern Haitian town cancels and postal history. It may be found using the link on that page titled titled "An Update to Haiti's Administrative Organization". March 3, 2008 - We've added a new page on the site to provide collectors an opportunity to download key articles that may prove useful to them as they build their collections of Haitian stamp and revenue issues. It may be accessed using the link titled "Reference Material" in list of the vertical links as shown on the left. Due to the size of the respective files, we recommend that once on the page, you right-click on the respective link and do a 'File Save As..' The articles shown on that page are meant as a permanent reference. March 2, 2008 - Images for Lots 22, 23, 27, 31, 33, and 34 have been added to our March Auction listing. February 17, 2008 - For the convenience of French speaking collectors and our members, updated web pages in French are now on-line with key information about the Society. Just click the link titled "Français" on our Home page. February 16, 2008 - The March Society auction has been posted. Our auctioneer advises scans of various lots will follow and will be inserted into the auction, with a notice on this page to advise the membership of their availability. January 14, 2008 - The Society is pleased to announce the release of its long-awaited consolidated Index to Haiti Philately publication. Covering the period from 1975 to 2005 in thirty-one pages, the new Index supersedes the three separate indexes that have served our members for quite some time. The new publication is available in both print and electronic form. For further details as to costs and ordering procedures, please check our 'HP Journal' link on the left side of this page. January 13, 2008 - Prices realized have been released for our December auction. December 18, 2007 - Our Society Auctioneer advises that due to circumstances beyond his control, the closing date of the December auction has been moved from January 5th to January 2nd. Any inconvenience is regretted. November 20, 2007 - The description for Lot 60 in the December Society Auction has been modified. In addition, changes have been made to the descriptions of Lots 79 through 83 to reflect that they are Formula cards. November 10, 2007 - The December Society auction listing has been posted. This auction marks a change in bidding increments and the amount of the fee charged to consigners and successful bidders. More about all that on the Auction page. We've also added an on-line copy of the rules covering the auction for your convenience, incorporating the latest changes. That link may also be found on the Auction page. October 23, 2007 - Prices realized have been released for our September auction. In addition, the Board has announced an increase in the commission fees charged of both buyers and sellers in our Society auctions, effective with our forthcoming December auction. For more details regarding each matter, see our Auctions main page. October 6, 2007 - Additional images have been added to the descriptions for the forthcoming October 10th Society Auction. The new scans have been provided for Lots 15, 16, 17, 19, 23, and 40. September 11, 2007 - Added two entries to the Links section. The first link points to Postcards of Haiti, a work-in-progress website from veteran Haiti collector, Abdel Nassar, which offers significant detail on the postcards of Haiti. The second link points to Buxsoft, a link provided by Brian Oakes. Brian advises the program PERFOMaster 3000 is a powerful and easy to use philatelic tool and is available without charge. It is used for measuring stamps. By simply scanning in your stamp or importing an image file of the stamp, PERFOMaster is able to accurately measure its perforations. For more information on this useful tool, access the Buxsoft site. August 29, 2007 - Auction descriptions for Lots 27, 31, 32, 33, and 45 have been modified. August 26, 2007 - Added a page showing some of the Haiti-related covers from the 1931 Dornier DO-X Transatlantic flight. The page may be accessed by clicking on the Gallery, then the Aerophilately link. August 23, 2007 - An image has been added for Lot 22 in our forthcoming September Auction. August 18, 2007 - Images for Lots 43, 44, 49, 50, 51, and 53 have been added to the September Auction listing. August 15, 2007 - The September Society auction has been posted. July 24, 2007 - Images of the 1999 Christmas issue have been added in the Modern section of the Gallery. In addition, an image of the 1997 UNICEF souvenir sheet has been added to that listing. July 15, 2007 - The prices realized for our June auction have been posted. July 10, 2007 - The results of the 2007 Society Membership Survey have been released. Click on the Membership link and scroll down to read the survey results on-line or download a copy for your reference. June 30, 2007 - At the request of a few potential bidders, additional material has been scanned by the auctioneer and those images have been added to the listings in the June 2007 auction. (See Lots 78, 80, 81, and 82.) During a review of those items, two typographical errors involving Lots 78 and 81 were detected in the auction descriptions and have been corrected . June 27, 2007 - The Society has presented its most prestigious award to a distinguished philatelist. See more details under the tab headed "Recognition". Due to unforeseen circumstances, the closing date for the June 2007 auction has been moved forward to July 5, 2007. The Society regrets any inconvenience this may cause. June 25, 2007 - Four new designs of releases designated as "UPU Illegals" have been added to the reference material under that heading. Images of the newly observed productions may be found under listings for Caribbean Birds, Tropical Butterflies, and 2006 Torino Olympics-Chess. June 13, 2007 - A number of issues from the decade of the 1990's have now been posted. Of special note, the perforated miniature sheet of eight of the WWF issue and the UNICEF sheetlets of six have been added to the previous entries for those issues. June 5, 2007 - Several illustrations have been added to the June Society auction listing. Lots with newly added images include Lots 76, 77, and 88. If you had previously looked at the image of the domestic censored cover featured in Lot 58, you'll want to check again for a photo added to better illustrate the rare censor marking on the reverse of that envelope. The description of Lot 59 has been modified to include a reference to the article in Haiti Philately which pictured the scarce cover featured in this lot. May 29, 2007 - Several additional images have been added to the web-version of the Society auction. May 28, 2007 - The June Society auction has been posted, closing July 15th. The listing of the record-breaking March auction has been moved to the Auction Archives section. The problem with the section headers of that auction (web version only) has been noted and is now corrected. May 20, 2007 - By request, we've added a page listing email addresses for Society officers and Board members. Access it via a link on the bottom of this page or via the Membership page. May 13, 2007 - New images have been posted on the Index page and the Links page. April 27, 2007 - The prices realized for our March Auction have been posted. April 12, 2007 - New images have been posted on the Index page and the Links page. April 5, 2007 - The Society has noted that an item in the forthcoming auction is damaged and that fact was inadvertently omitted from the listing in the Auction. The description for that particular lot, 98, has been corrected and a photo added. The oversight is regretted. March 26, 2007 - Added information about two additional UPU - Illegals. March 22, 2007 - Added information about the Society's newly available life membership category to the "Membership" page. March 20, 2007 - Corrected an inadvertent omission concerning circumstances surrounding the special HPS award, which was presented at the Washington 2006 International Philatelic Exhibition. (See "Past Successes") March 12, 2007 - Added a graphics indicator of active links in the "A Gallery", "Modern", and the "AeroPhilately" pages. Added forgery material from Francois Fournier including a rare full page from a 1928 l’Union Philatélique de Genève album showing examples of Fournier's Haiti workmanship. March 11, 2007 - Made a few minor changes in the appearance of the site and opened the 1990's page under the Modern period of Haiti stamps. More items will be added. Added new illustrations to Lots under the category 'Saint Dominque' in the March 2007 Auction listing March 6, 2007 - Added a page showing the Tourism issue of 2000 in the Modern period of the Gallery. March 3, 2007 - By request, we've added this page so that you may easily determine what may have changed on our expanded website. Pictures have been added to the March 2007 auction. New images have been posted on the Index page and the Links page.
