AeroPhilately of Haiti
Experimental flights were conducted in Haiti as early 1923 by United States Marine Corps pilots. As early trial flights continued, the fledgling West Indies Aerial Express began in 1927 with service to the neighboring Dominican Republic and Cuba. As new air services were in early stages of development, Haiti was a terminal stop over for the new Pan American Airways as well as the New York-Rio-Buenos Aires (NYRBA) line. Covers from the earliest eras onward may be found in many collections.
