| Lot 2. Order on military stationary of Rochambeau as General in Chief at le Cap to General Quantin at Fort Dauphin, 21 February 1803. Handstamp on front “le General en Chef” (see Jamet #14 in section on franks and countersigns, listed for General Le Clerc). On reverse is handstamp seal of General Rochambeau “LE GENERAL EN CHEF”, quite legible and almost VF. The order is very clean and sound. Contents in two paragraphs, both signed by Rochambeau. The first has a circle about 2cm diameter neatly removed at the beginning of the text, not seriously affecting the contents, both can be easily read. Almost VF. | |||
